Welcome to our HCI research group!

We’ve had an HCI research programme in the Department of Computer Science at Brunel University since the early 1990’s and currently have around 30 members drawn from our faculty, Research Fellows and PhD students. The group has expertise in interaction design (IxD), usability testing, usability experience design (UxD), visualisation, virtual environments and multimedia design.

We are highly interdisciplinary, and encompass a wide variety of disciplinary backgrounds, drawing from computer science, psychology and design, amongst others. Our research has been applied in a wide range of areas, across areas including multi-sensory systems, financial technologies, management information systems, healthcare, AI, interactive robots, affective interfaces, educational technologies, and data analytics, to name a few.
